'About This Folder' Pages Now in the Library!

A little birdy told us you'd like to be able to access your favorite links, consultant profiles and other resources on the 'About this Folder' pages without having to go to the Message Boards to find them.

We thought that was a great idea so we added all of the 'About this Folder' pages to the Specialty and Species Resources page in the VIN Library.

If you have any bright ideas or suggestions, don't leave it up to the little birdy...send them to Feedback@vin.com!

If You're Looking for CE with World-wide Flair...
...don't miss the 18th Congress of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Companion Animals in Ghent, Belgium on September 4-6. Check out the ECVIM 2007 proceedings and the 2008 programme to see what you can expect.

Want to stay a little farther west?
Head to the Emerald Isle for the 33rd Annual World Small Animal Veterinary Association/14th FECAVA Congress in Dublin, Ireland August 20-24. Review the proceedings from WSAVA 2007.

Now in the VIN Bookstore
Looking for the new CVT? Kirk’s Current Veterinary Therapy XIV (2008) is a mainstay of the practicing veterinarian's bookshelf. Numerous succinct chapters provide you with the information that you need right now, and the companion website provides information from CVT XIII, as well as images, laboratory test interpretation and more.

Find the new CVT, and much more, in the VIN Bookstore. VIN Members save 10% or more off the list price every day and free shipping on US orders of $90.00 or more.

Note: During the past year, visibility and promotion of the VIN Bookstore as a VIN member benefit was greatly reduced. Why? Because despite the savings available, long delivery times diminished the 'benefit'. We are happy to report that those issues have been resolved...and that once again the VIN Bookstore is truly a member benefit. Please tell us what you think.

Fluid resuscitation and the trauma patient
Animals with traumatic injuries are less tolerant of sudden increases in hydrostatic pressure, which can exacerbate fluid leakage into damaged tissues and disrupt blood clots.

Necrotizing meningoencephalitis in five chihuahua dogs

Can I mark up compounded drugs?
Due to shipping and the fact that we would be administering drug, owner decided it would be easier to just have the practice pay for it. We do not have a standard dispensing fee added on to our in house drugs. Can we legally "mark up" the bottle?

Favorite tom cat catheter
I know a lot of people like Slippery Sams, but I haven't found them any easier to use than the Sovereign ones. However, I don't leave tomcat catheters in place after unblocking.

ER refuses to dispense
I was stunned. Am I out of line to expect the ER to dispense to my client on my request? I'm not asking for the world here, I'm asking for a couple of days of pain relief until he can get in to see me. Where's the professional courtesy?
