Antimicrobial Treatment of Neonatal Foals
Dosing and treatment intervals often differ in ill neonates, in comparison with the dose schedule for adults.

Comparison of Cyclosporine A with Methylprednisolone for Treatment of Canine Atopic Dermatitis: A Parallel, Blinded, Randomized Controlled Trial
Cyclosporine A monotherapy is equivalent to methylprednisolone administration for treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Our results suggest that the inducing dosage of 5 mg/kg can be tapered over time, while treatment efficacy is maintained, with a dose at least twice lower than that needed during the induction phase.

Detection of Papillomavirus-DNA in Mesenchymal Tumour Cells and Not in the Hyperplastic Epithelium of Feline Sarcoids
In contrast to feline papillomas, papillomaviral antigens were not detected in feline sarcoids by immunohistochemistry. Based on their resemblance to equine sarcoids, it was nonetheless assumed that papillomaviruses might play a role in the development of these tumours.

Synergistic Inhibition of the Growth In Vitro of Microsporum canis by Miconazole and Chlorhexidine
For nine of 10 of the isolates, a combination of miconazole and chlorhexidine was more effective than either agent alone; fractional inhibitory concentration indices indicated a synergistic effect for five isolates and an additive effect for four

Preventing Scrotal Hematoma After Castration In Dogs
In the older dogs, the vessels at the gubernaculum seem more developed than those in the young dogs, so that they don't tie themselves up as reliably when pulled. I do open castrations on the larger and older dogs, but on adults, once I've got the tunic's attachment at the scrotum stretched a bit so the vessels are visible I ligate (hemoclip) the vessels. Probably overkill, but it seems to work nicely.

Pleural Effusion: Placing Chest Tubes For Long-Term Use?
My question is, how risky would it be to place a chest tube and train the owner to drain it for the trip?

Proteinuria, UPC, Dog
The urine protein:creatinine ratio is just a surrogate test for a 24-hr urine protein excretion. It's not some wonderful, gold standard test. It's very important to see how reproducible it is.

High SDH In Healthy Lactating Dairy Cattle
If the NEFAs and BHB are high, then there is an energy deficit. NEFAs are more sensitive; to be accurate, cows should be on the diet for at least 5 days prior to sampling.
