New On BETA.vin.com: MyCE
Now there's an easy way to keep track of your past, present and future VIN continual education participation.

It's called MyCE. Currently MyCE is available on BETA.vin.com .

There are 2 ways to find your MyCE:

  • choose MyVIN -> Stuff -> MyCE

In your MyCE you can view your previous, current and upcoming course registrations, view/print your certificates, keep track of credits you've earned -- as well as easily ACCESS PRIOR COURSES you have completed.

(NOTE: MyCE is only accessible from BETA.vin.com.) If you want the latest and greatest and want to be on the "bleeding edge" of where VIN is going, make Beta.vin.com your VIN Homepage.

Dominance in domestic dogs—useful construct or bad habit?
Although dominance is correctly a property of relationships, it has been erroneously used to describe a supposed trait of individual dogs, even though there is little evidence that such a trait exists.

Use of memantine in treatment of canine compulsive disorders
The results suggest that memantine may be an effective, well-tolerated option for the treatment of CCD either as a sole treatment or as an add-on to fluoxetine.

Immunohistochemical features of dystrophic axons in papillon dogs with neuroaxonal dystrophy
The accumulation of alpha-synuclein in the dystrophic axon and region-specific appearance of calcium-binding protein-positive spheroids are considered as unique features in neuroaxonal dystrophy of Papillon dogs, providing the key to elucidate the pathogenesis.

Rehoming programs for clients' pets
If they are still able bodied enough to care for pets, what about having them be foster parents for pets? Or having like a big brother/sister program but for pets- pair them up with a young professional that may love to have someone hang out with their pet a couple days a week?

Provide the scrubs to the employees?
I provide 2 sets of scrubs right off the bat. They technically belong to the clinic until after the 90 day probation period but frankly I doubt I would try to get them back. After all what would I do with them?

Diagnosing congestive heart failure in dogs
What we really want is evidence of tachypnea at rest. Dogs with chronic respiratory disease generally breathe normally at rest, but cough. Dogs with CHF have tachypnea with or without coughing.
