Molecular Identification of Ehrlichia ewingii Infection in Dogs: 15 Cases (1997-2001)
Results suggest that PCR testing for E ewingii infection should be considered in dogs with fever, neutrophilic poly-arthritis, unexplained ataxia or paresis, thrombocytopenia, or unexplained reactive lymphocytes, and in dogs with clinical signs suggestive of ehrlichiosis that are seronegative for E canis.
Colloid Osmotic Pressure After Hemorrhage and Replenishment with Oxyglobin Solution, Hetastarch, or Whole Blood in Pregnant Sheep
Oxyglobin Solution is a more potent colloid than hetastarch.
Managing Renal Amyloidosis in Dogs and Cats
The exact value of the urine protein:creatinine ratio does not indicate the cause of proteinuria. Definitive diagnosis of renal amyloidosis requires a renal biopsy.
Loss of Deep Pain Sensation Following Thoracolumbar Intervertebral Disk Herniation in Dogs: Pathophysiology
The following four interrelated pathophysiologic mechanisms contribute to secondary injury: spinal cord ischemia; production of free radicals (reperfusion injury); electrolyte abnormalities; neutrophil and macrophage activation.

Butorphanol/Buprenex: Duration, Effectiveness, Dosing
I know of no opioid capable of antagonizing itself, but it could have an atagonistic effect at the Mu receptor if you gave morphine or other pure Mu agonists at the same time.
Blood Type AB in a Siamese With Anemia, Leukopenia and FUO
All the literature I've read says that 100% of Siamese are type A. Well, I have a Siamese that tested strong type B..
Irresponsible Breeders Stress Me Out
I believe that anyone breeding dogs should have some type of breeding license where they take a class and pass a test. If someone is serious about breeding, then he'll take the initiative to get a license. The other pet-owners should be required to have a neutered animal or pay high fees.
Bread Dough (Ethanol) Poisoning
As bread rises, the yeast produces ethanol. These bread dough dogs can be very drunk. A cold water lavage can kill the yeast and, with time, some of the slimy dough can pass through the tube. After the cold water lavage, watch the dog's temperature carefully. Toxiban does not bind alcohol and is not needed.
