Evaluation of storage mite contamination of commercial dry dog food
Storage mites may be considered important allergens in dogs with atopic dermatitis. High sensitization rates to Tyrophagus, Acarus, and Lepidoglyphus species have been reported in atopic dogs, and dry pet food has been suggested as a potential source of storage mite exposure.
Preventing endocrine-related laminitis
Prevention of endocrine-related laminitis has the greatest chance of success if (1) an early diagnosis of endocrinopathy is made and (2) appropriate treatments, monitoring of treatments, and important management changes are made.
Immunophysiological responses of horses to a 12-hour rest during 24 hours of road transport
Thirty-eight mature horses were assigned to one of two equal groups to evaluate two treatments consisting of either 24 hours of continuous road transport (24T) or two 12-hour periods of transport separated by off-loading, resting and feeding the horses for 12 hours (12/12T).


Fluoroquinolones can affect tendons
Enrofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic has been used widely in humans and domestic animals, including dogs, because of its broad-spectrum activity and relative safety. The side effects of fluoroquinolone, induced tendinopathy, tendonitis, spontaneous tendon rupture and cartilage damage, remain incompletely understood.
Teaching newbies how to use VIN
What worked best for me was exploration and discovery. The downside of my approach is that some useful features were unknown to me for a long time.
Raise rates if overbooked for relief work; pay relief veterinarians on production?
While I don't put relief vets on production, I do offer production if they generate more than 4X their fee. To date I've only had to pay it twice, and was very happy to do so.
Why it's important to remove ankylosed roots in teeth with resorptions
If you have one material that is not entirely resorbed into the bone are you not providing a bacterial nidus with possible/partial innervation? At what point does one guarantee that there is no sensation in a resorbtive lesion?
