Canine and Feline Transdermal Gel Drug Absorption Study
We are looking for patients currently receiving the following drugs either orally or transdermally and whose owners will allow the collection of two samples post-dosing: enrofloxacin, metronidazole, prednisolone, fluoxetine, amitriptyline, clomipramine, buprenorphine, and cyproheptadine. The Transdermal Drug Trial will compare plasma or serum drug concentrations between the oral and transdermal groups for each of these drugs.

Comparison of a low carbohydrate-low fiber diet and a moderate carbohydrate-high fiber diet in the management of feline diabetes mellitus

Retrospective study of 156 atrial septal defects in dogs and cats (2001-2005)
The most common clinical signs included systolic murmur heard over the left heart base (20.2%), exercise intolerance (7.0%), syncope (5.3%), dyspnoea (2.6%) and cough (2.6%). Animals that presented a systolic heart murmur over the left base had a significantly larger atrial septal defect (ASD) than others. These data suggest that the incidence of ASD is higher than previously assumed.

Effects of electrostimulated acupuncture on ground reaction forces and pain scores in dogs with chronic elbow joint arthritis
Results suggested that electrostimuluated acupuncture did not have any significant effects on severity of lameness, as determined by measurement of ground reaction forces, or severity of pain, as determined by visual analog scale pain scores, in dogs with chronic elbow joint osteoarthritis secondary to elbow joint dysplasia.

How Do Emergency Veterinarians Balance The Realities Of Limited Funds And The Ethics Of Animal Suffering?
… working as a tech, I never heard those conversations in the room with the clients about money aspects. How do you turn them away if they don't have any money? How do you turn away a dying pet that doesn't understand why no one can or will help him?

Running or swimming is good for cardiac conditioning. I also do a variety of exercises with my dogs to work on specific body parts. Trotting up hills is excellent.
Dental Mistakes #3: Let's Learn From This Primary Tooth Extraction Gone Bad
When removing persistent primary canine teeth, I will make an envelope flap distal to the primary tooth to open the gingiva and allow entry of my elevator without tearing the gingiva. I do not make any vertical releasing incisions, as I see no need.
