Effects of dietary antioxidant supplementation before and after oral acetaminophen challenge in cats
Lipoate supplementation (150 mg/kg [DMB]) did not act as an antioxidant, but appeared to enhance oxidant effects of acetaminophen. Vitamin E plus cysteine had protective effects.

Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Surgery of Birds
The use of miniature endoscopic equipment has been pioneered in human pediatric laparoscopy, and many of these techniques can be used in avian medicine. The advent of minimally invasive endoscopic surgery offers important benefits, including rapid and accurate diagnosis, reduced need for an extensive coeliotomy, reduced surgical stress, improved pulmonary function, more stable anesthesia, and reduced surgical and hospitalization periods.
Characterization of equine intestinal fatty acid binding protein and its use in managing horses with colic
Determination of intestinal fatty acid binding protein (I-FABP) concentrations in abdominal fluid and plasma may be useful for predicting survival and the need for abdominal surgical intervention in horses with colic. Furthermore, serum creatine kinase activity and color and protein concentrations of abdominal fluid may be useful in the diagnosis of intestinal ischemia.

The city of San Antonio is faced with handling nearly 50,000 unwanted pets annually. Over 97% are euthanized. A recent series of sensationalized, inflammatory articles in the local newspaper has rallied a significant effort by animal activists to change this situation. One "solution" that has been suggested is to encourage people with unwanted pets to take them to a veterinarian for a more humane euthanasia ...
Ultrasound Images And Radiographs Of Cat With?
The second ultrasound looks to me like there is dilation of the common bile duct in the far field. That can happen in anorexic cats, but this looks excessive. That, coupled with the history, makes me at least put biliary obstruction on the list. On both radiographs, there is a small calcific density near the area of the junction of the common bile duct with the duodenum.

Even if Giardia organisms (or the antigen) are present, the animal may be asymptomatic and treatment may not "clear" every last organism. So it's difficult to come up with a gold standard to compare test methods.
