Facing pandemic influenza threats: the importance of including poultry and swine workers in preparedness plans
Recent research has shown that poultry and swine workers, especially those with intense exposures, are at increased risk of zoonotic influenza virus infections. In multiple studies, US poultry workers and poultry veterinarians have evidence of previous infections with avian influenza virus. Similarly, US swine workers have strong evidence of previous and acute infections with swine influenza.

How to perform a two-portal laparoscopic ovariectomy

What is this ugly thing?
There are bilateral lesions at the site of the interosseus ligament. They are similar to each other and look like RUIN lesions on the craniocaudal image. On the lateral I agree with Greg that the lesion is extreme for RUIN. You could consider a biopsy. A RUIN lesion should contain cartilage or avascular mesenchyme.
Tired of people who think we should provide free care
I had a situation today that I addressing but having second thoughts. We received a call from a representative of a provincially run health organization with regards to a client of mine who has a visitation dog.The dog is past due for vaccination, heartworm test, annual health exam, annual fecal by a few months. These are requirements for the dog to be in the visitation program. The employee of the health agency wondered if we could work out a "payment plan" for the owner so the dog would not be lost to the program. I am a little tired of the public always expecting the vet to subsidize their charitable intentions (at no cost to them).
Young child deliberately injured cat: should authorities be notified?
