Newly Added To VIN:

Newly Added To VeterinaryPartner.com:

Management of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Penis
One of the biggest problems concerning the treatment of SCC of the penis and prepuce is the fact that the disease tends to remain undetected. Owner education about the disease, and perhaps, regular examinations of the external genitalia should become more prominent parts of preventative or "wellness" programmes for older geldings.

Evaluation of an In-Practice Test for Feline Coronavirus Antibodies
In view of the occurrence of false positive Immunocomb results, all positive Immunocomb results in sick cats require further investigation using an IFA test. In contrast, a negative result is more useful as it reduces the likelihood that the cat has FIP -- as the cat either has no or very low levels of antibodies when assessed by IFA.

Treatment of Dermatophytosis in Dogs and Cats: Review of Published Studies
Fungal vaccines were not found to be effective against challenge exposure, however, there is evidence that they may be useful in treatment protocols.

Tramadol Dose For Dogs; Methadone vs Morphine
Methadone is used in Australian vet practices for a few reasons. Very closely equivalent to morphine (with respect to duration and degree of analgesia), and very cheap like morphine; major benefit over morphine is that it comes in multi-dose vials.

Horse Care For Idiots
To start with, I am a small animal vet so I need this book. This week I visited five horses recently imported from the Phillipines to Palau. They are the only horses on Palau and the owner knows nothing about horses and neither does anyone else on the island ...

Should I Have Waited To Remove The Mass?
I would rather tell 100 people "the test shows it's nothing to worry about" than to say to "we should have tapped it back when we found it." You'd be amazed how many people that I've advised to do an FNA and turned it down at the time tell me a year later that my associate looked at the lump back then and told them to just watch it. I find my own handwriting on the record recommending FNA and remind them that no, it was me, not my associate, and I recommended a test but THEY decided to just watch it ...

Morphine Premed Disappointment: What Went Wrong?
Did my first bitch spey with my new premeds today. She woke up with a real crash and a bang -- head tossing, vocalising, etc. Is this just a pain response, or could it also be hyper-excitement caused by the morphine?
