Newly Added To VeterinaryPartner.com:

Diagnostic Ultrasonography of Equine Lens and Posterior Segment Abnormalities
Ultrasonography also provided critical information with regard to the potential for surgical removal of cataracts and was a valuable component of postsurgical follow-up.

Modified Vaccinia Virus Ankara as a Vaccine Against Feline Coronavirus: Immunogenicity and Efficacy
Vaccinated kittens developed FIPV-specific antibodies after immunization, however, none of them was protected against FIPV.

Hemotrophic Mycoplasmas (hemoplasmas): A Review and New Insights Into Pathogenic Potential
Phylogenetic evidence strongly supports the reclassification of Haemobartonella and Eperythrozoon spp as hemotrophic mycoplasma organisms. PCR assays now are available for the diagnosis of hemoplasma infection, and real-time quantitative PCR may provide additional information about the significance of a positive PCR result as well as help monitor treatment.

Glucocorticoid Dose Effects on the Duration of Increased Serum Alkaline Phosphatase Activity in Dogs
Short-acting glucocorticoids administered to dogs at anti-inflammatory doses can cause increased serum alkaline phosphatase activity which may require three weeks after the end of treatment to return to baseline concentrations.

Canine Distemper Outbreak, California
If a dog is solidly immune, it won't shed vaccine virus because the virus won't have a chance to replicate.

Spayed Or Not?
Run an LH test. If the LH is high, she has been spayed. If the LH is low, go diving for ovaries.

Discounts for Bulk Purchases?
The discount they get from us, if you want to call it that, is that they pay the dispensing fee less frequently if they buy a larger quantity. That's all. Do you really want to be CostCoVet?

Kennel Cough Despite Vaccination
The vaccine still contains the old Bordetella, rather than the strains that are most pathogenic now. The vaccines have not changed but the disease-producing strains have and the old vaccines do not protect against all Bordetella isolates. That is why you can still see clinical disease in the face of a good vaccination program.
