"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs." ~ Ansel Adams
When words aren't enough, turn to the VIN Image Library, built in part from VINner contributions. This is the VIN Community at its best!

Images are immensely valuable in teaching and sharing ideas on cases. The Image Library includes hundreds of photos, radiographs, ultrasounds, illustrations and other images and is divided into easy to use categories and sections. Reach the Image Library through the Multimedia Center or the Specialty Centers in the VIN Library.

If there is a specific image you'd like to see or if you'd like to contribute your own images please contact us at Library@vin.com.

Veterinarians and the red flags rule
I don't really care how "easy" the AVMA has made it, I'm a solo practitioner, and I don't have time for this kind of crap. We try to protect what we have already. The written plan, etc, is a colossal waste of time. My biggest concern, that I cannot get a straight answer from anyone on, is how long I must keep "my" copy of a credit card sales slip before I can destroy it. I've been told anywhere from 5 years to 30 days. These slips laying around are the single biggest threat to anyone, with the CC numbers and signatures on them. The new systems don't print the whole number, but I still have slips from the old system. Can I please burn them now?

Kitten with abnormal gait
On palpation of the stifle joint it felt very abnormal and thickened. The anatomy felt very abnormal and there was obvious thickening of the femoral condyles. The hind legs could be extended but there was medial rotation at the stifle joints with inward rotation of the tarsus. When the patient walked it seemed to hobble and hop instead of taking steps. The hock, elbow and carpus also felt very thickened and abnormal. The ribs and dorsal spine felt very coarse and abnormal as well. All other physical exam findings were normal.

The city is going to build an animal control facility that will offer cheap spays, vaccinations, etc.: any advice?
Do you really think this will negatively impact your practice? Has anyone had decreased revenue after a clinic like this one opened?

I haven't been able to follow that many to adulthood, but those that I have have not needed any surgery. Still, someone adopting should be aware of the potential.
