Dynamics of conflict management in canines: Preliminary results
Behavioral observations of feral dogs in Italy have revealed that so-called cut-off signals, that is, signals intended to stop another individual, mostly a younger/lower-ranking one, from continuing with whatever it is doing at the moment, are regular parts of conflict management insofar as they seem to prevent situations from escalating. They seem not to disrupt social cohesion even in a short-term perspective, nor do they lead to any recognizable behavioral indicators of stress.

A comparison of dog owners' claims about their pets' guilt with evidence from dog behavior
The current research aims to examine behavior associated with one claim dog owners make of their dogs 'guilt' at doing a behavior that has been disallowed.

Pavlovian conditioning in the veterinary clinic
Understanding Pavlovian conditioning and how to implement it are valuable tools for every member of the veterinary team.

How can a new grad build a client base?
I have been out of school almost one year. I am one associate in a 6 doctor practice. One doctor was added about a month after I started, she has been practicing for about 3 years now, and the others have been there 3 years or more. I always seem to be the one with the least appointments and the least transactions. When I do have appointments, I am fairly productive averaging about $150 per transaction. I am on a base salary now, but will be starting production in June which makes me extremely nervous about even being able to pay bills.

Suspected drug shopper
I don't know what to do. I am very suspicious that she is taking the drugs herself, but I have no proof. I am also suspicious that she is getting the same prescriptions from at least her 'other vet', if not from multiple other clinics. The poor dog clearly needs his medicine, and I hate to stop authorizing it if there is a chance he is actually getting it, but I seriously doubt he is.

Clients demand more despite our attempts to accommodate their financial constraints: how can we deal with this?
It's like the clients you go out of your way to help, be kind to and go the extra mile for are the ones that are the first to turn on you.
