Investigation on the clinical efficacy and tolerability of a 0.4% topical stannous fluoride preparation (MedEquine Gel) for the treatment of bacterial skin infections in horses: a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial
At the end of the trial, none of the horses in the stannous fluoride group required additional therapy, while four of ten horses in the vehicle group required systemic therapy to resolve the infection. The 0.4% stannous fluoride gel was an effective and safe therapy for the topical management of bacterial skin infections in the horses included in the study.

Intensive care expectations
Some doctors have made us feel bad for not having a veterinarian totally available to stay with a patient for long stretches of time. In some instances, these patients have terminal illness or a disease with minimal chance of survival - does having a veterinarian by the side of the pet at every moment have a enough of a positive impact on these patients to justify the veterinarian not doing anything else (I'm talking for hours at a time)?

Get employees through Craigslist?
My biggest question is within 4 hours of placing an ad on Craigslist so many newer ads are placed that I move down many pages to the bottom of the list. Does that happen to you and what do you do?

Aquarium fish medicine is a challenging and exciting area of veterinary medicine. It is fortunate that as veterinarians, we are uniquely trained to work-up diseases and attempt therapies in many animal species. These skills serve us well in the realm of aquarium fish. The only additional skill needed will be an understanding of the fish environment.

Veterinarians and veterinary staff interested in or already practicing fish medicine are welcome to enroll in the course.

Please visit How-To Of Online CE for details about how to register and participate in online CE courses.
