Small Animal Cardiovascular Medicine Textbook Online
The most popular veterinary cardiology textbook -- Kittleson and Kienle's Small Animal Cardiovascular Medicine -- is now on VIN. This online version allows you to read or search the complete text of the first edition and contains several UPDATED chapters. Full-text online texts are something all VINners have hoped for and this marks the start of a growing collection. Initially, this and other texts will be available to all VINners at no extra charge. Long-term, to ensure that we can reward authors for keeping their texts up-to-date on a continual basis, there may be a small additional charge for accessing the textbooks you use most frequently. Thanks for using VIN!

Aberrant p53 Expression in Feline Vaccine-associated Sarcomas and Correlation with Prognosis
Cytoplasmic staining for p53 was a consistent pattern of VAS, occurring in 44% of tumors evaluated. Cats with tumors that exhibited cytoplasmic p53 had significantly shorter time to tumor recurrence compared to those cats with tumors that exhibited nuclear p53 staining (P = 0.0284), but no significant difference in survival outcome was observed.
Incidence of polysaccharide storage myopathy: necropsy study of 225 horses

Feline Anal Sacculectomy Technique Tips And Photos
In dogs, I have always done the closed technique with careful dissection, but many years ago, when I was taught how to do this by a very accomplished surgeon, he felt the open technique was less traumatic due to the small area to work in when removing the glands in cats. What is the general consensus on this?

ER Docs Share Their Clinic Policies For Signing Over Pets
I'm interested in learning what the policy is in other ER/CC hospitals, when pets are presented by owners who can't or won't pay for even minimal services, yet they have non-fatal, fixable medical problems. Do you ever offer the owner the option of signing the pet over to the hospital and if so, when is that policy applied?
Differentials And Workup For Horse With Chronic Distal Limb Dermatitis
Once the treatment was stopped, the lesions came right back! So now I have the owner willing to do a biopsy, culture, sensitivity, etc. I want to wait until the lesions are back in full force before biopsy, so I am waiting a week ...
