Serum Troponin I Levels in Hyperthyroid Cats Before and After Treatment with Radioactive Iodine
A raised concentration of serum cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is a sensitive marker of cardiac myocyte injury in the cat. Raised levels have been associated with a number of cardiac insults, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and trauma. The results of this study suggest that chronic exposure to excess thyroid hormone may induce myocyte damage of sufficient severity to raise serum cTnI concentration in a proportion of cats that resolves following establishment of a euthyroid state.
Multiple Myelomas in Cats
Therapy included melphalan at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg once daily for 14 days, then every other day until clinical improvement or leukopenia developed.
Treating Burn Injuries in Horses

Counseling Clients About Dog Training Methods; Puppy Training Handouts
I would never leave my dog with a trainer who wouldn't let me see my dogs or have access to them. And I think any good trainer would involve the owner, as ultimately it is the owner that has to live with the dog and needs to learn how to control the dog.
Do You Recommend/Sell Pet Food?
Thought I'd run this by you guys, as I've been pondering it more of late. There's obviously no black and white answer, but I think the discussion itself may be instructive. I'll give you some background on my thinking, and my hypothesis, and we'll take it from there.
Anyone Familiar With The AKC Veterinary Network Associated With The Hartz Company?
Just got this in the mail today. AKC Veterinary Network will help market your practice and give you free brochures, coloring books, AKC/Hartz dog posters, and other informative pieces about AKC and dog registration. It will distribute coupons to recent registrants, redeemable for a free first office visit. Vaccines, exams, radiographs, medication, and procedures are not included. AKC is not responsible for the cost of the office visit. How many times are people going to give out coupons that cost them (almost) nothing and we get to generously give away our office visit fee?
