Effects of oral administration of furosemide and torsemide in healthy dogs
In dogs, diuretic resistance developed after 14 days of furosemide, but not torsemide, administration. However, both loop diuretics were associated with increased BUN and plasma creatinine concentrations, compared with values before treatment.

Efficacy of tinidazole for treatment of cats experimentally infected with Tritrichomonas foetus
Although tinidazole decreased the detection of Tritrichomonas foetus and treated cats were resistant to later efforts to incite the infection, inability of tinidazole to eradicate infection in many cats poses a serious impediment to the drug's effectiveness in practice.

Comparison of analgesic efficacy of preoperative or postoperative carprofen with or without preincisional mepivacaine epidural anesthesia in canine pelvic or femoral fracture repair
Preoperative carprofen combined with mepivacaine epidural anesthesia had superior postoperative analgesia when compared to preoperative carprofen alone. When preoperative epidural anesthesia was performed, preoperative administration of carprofen did not improve postoperative analgesia compared with postoperative administration of carprofen.

Pharmacokinetics of voriconazole following intravenous and oral administration and body fluid concentrations of voriconazole following repeated oral administration in horses
Results indicated that voriconazole distributed quickly and widely in the body; following a single intravenous dose, initial plasma concentrations were high with a steady and early decrease in plasma concentration. Absorption of voriconazole after oral administration was excellent, compared with absorption after intravenous administration. Voriconazole appears to be another option for the treatment of fungal infections in horses.

Foaling/dystocia advice
It does become a skill, you look at it like a jigsaw puzzle, figuring out what move you can make things easier. The worst scenarios are live foals that are in a horrible position, meaning no chance of fetotomy. They are frustating and in the end, you more than likely will lose the foal, but the end goal should be to salvage the mare.

Post-grooming furunculosis
The groomer reported no skin lesions noted at the time. The dog supposedly did not react as if painful. 3 days later the owner reported the dog as painful and blood on fingers when pet. She took to her vet. See pictures before clipping, after clipping and after skin slough/debridement. The groomer is being accused of animal cruelty by the owners.

Managing practice growth without giving up preferred practice style
If physical space is the real problem, then organize and microsize. Remove every single thing that is clutter, unused, or extra, and use every inch of space you can for storage of excess.

    Search Tip:
With more information, the search is more likely to return the results you want: enter HEARTWORM ANTIGEN TESTS, not just HEARTWORM. General terms like KIDNEY can sometimes be useful, but a more specific descriptor such as RENAL FAILURE or KIDNEY FAILURE is often more helpful.
