Comparison of the Effects of Four Antiarrhythmic Treatments for Familial Ventricular Arrhythmias in Boxers
Significant reductions in number of VPC, severity of arrhythmia, and maximum and mean HR were observed in dogs treated with mexiletine-atenolol or sotalol.

Frequency of Isolation and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Patterns of Staphylococcus intermedius and Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates From Canine Skin and Ear Samples Over a 6-Year Period (1992-1997)
Empirical treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections is not advisable because of the potential of encountering a multidrug-resistant isolate. Instead, bacterial culture and susceptibility testing should be pursued in all suspected P. aeruginosa infections.

Prognosis Following Surgical Excision of Canine Cutaneous Mast Cell Tumors With Histopathologically Tumor-Free Versus Nontumor-Free Margins: A Retrospective Study of 31 Cases
There were significantly more boxers and Labrador retrievers compared to the hospital population for the same period. There was no significant difference in the frequency of local relapse or distant relapse between the tumor-free and nontumor-free margin groups. The median time to relapse in the nontumor-free margin group was 7.5 months compared to 13 months for the tumor-free margin group. The postoperative survival times for dogs in the tumor-free margin group were significantly longer (median, 53.5 months to date) compared to those in the nontumor-free margin group (median, 15 months);

Doramectin as a Treatment for Canine and Feline Demodicosis
Doramectin given at a dose of 600 mcg/kg bodyweight once weekly by SC injection gave faster results with the same percentage of successful cases as the use of daily oral ivermectin at the same dose rate. The advantage with doramectin is that it can be given as painless weekly injections.

Fluid Rates, Hypotension in Cats, Dogs
One point to remember about adjusting fluids up due to hypotension. I feel that a better reflex is to turn down the inhalation first.
