Dr Gregory K. Ogilvie followed his dream to become the director of California Veterinary Specialist's Angel Care Cancer Center after 16 years as a full professor, head of medical oncology and director of the Medical Oncology Research Laboratory at the Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. There, as a board certified specialist in the specialties of internal medicine and oncology, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine he is Director of the CVS Angel Care Cancer Center in San Diego County.

After graduating from Colorado State University and spending several years in private practice in Connecticut, Greg did a residency at Tufts University at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital. From there, he went on to a faculty position at the University of Illinois and Colorado Sate University. Greg is coauthor of three books (Managing the Veterinary Cancer Patient: A Practice Manual, Feline Oncology, Comprehensive Guide to Compassionate Care and Canine Oncology, Comprehensive Guide to Compassionate Care [In Press]) and over 160 publications and is the recipient of many international patents, five million dollars in research grants and various awards including:

  • Two Norden Distinguished Teacher Awards
  • Purina Small Animal Research Award
  • AVMA/AKC Award for Research Excellence
  • "AVMA Veterinarian of the Year"
  • Outstanding Faculty Award by the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association
  • AAHA "Veterinarian of theYear"
  • SHARE Human Animal Bond Award in Companion Animal Medicine
  • North Americal Veterinary Medical Association "Small Animlal Speaker of the Year" - 1999
  • World Small Animal Veterinary Association Healthcare Award
Dr. Greg Ogilvie is a certified ski instructor and enjoys camping and long distance bicycle riding, SCUBA, and has been a counselor at the Sky High Hope Camp for children who have cancer for 15 years. HIs greatest teacher is his daughter, and friend, Torrie.
