COURSE DESCRIPTION
This session will focus on a brief history of NSAIDs and provide a review of the physiologic role of prostaglandins and cyclooxygenase, including a discusssion of the inhibition of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2.

At the end of this course, participants will be better able to understand:

1. Why NSAIDs are commonly used for the treatment of pain.
2. What nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are, how they work, and some of the differences between various NSAIDs.
3. The anticipated and unanticipated side effects of NSAIDs.

Discussions will begin on the start date of the course and will continue for 7 days following the real time session.

CE HOURS: 1.5

FREE (Tuition provided by Novartis Animal Health)
Attendance at the interactive Session is open to veterinarians and veterinary students only and does not require registration.

Advance registration only required for CE Credit.
Those who register before Thursday, 5 pm PDT (USA) on September 26th, 2002. will be eligible for a CE certificate.
