SAIM500-1100: Disorders of the Colon

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will briefly review the anatomy and physiology of the canine and feline colon. We will discuss the manifestations of colonic disease, how to choose and interpret diagnostic tests, and how to manage common (and often frustating) colonic diseases. In the first week we will discuss canine colonic disease, with emphasis on the investigation and management of large bowel diarrhea. In week 2 we will focus on the feline colon, with particular attention given to the problems of feline constipation and megacolon.

At the completion of this course, participants will be better able to diagnose and manage (both nutritionally and medically) many diverse diseases of the canine and feline colon.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred.
