COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Veterinary clinicians often say they feel insecure about working up and managing cardiology cases. The instructors of this class, Drs. Mark Kittleson and Paul D. Pion, both board-certified cardiologists, believe that understanding a few basic concepts will alleviate this. Making cardiology easy and understandable for practitioners is their goal for this class.
Real case material will be used as the primary teaching tool. (Much of the material can be previewed at http://www.vmth.ucdavis.edu/Cardio/cases/.) Drs. Kittleson and Pion will use these cases to guide you through the thought processes and skills required to diagnose and treat cardiac disease.
You will enjoy learning the LOGIC of cardiac workups. And you will learn the underlying concepts that will allow you to approach other cases, similar and dissimilar, with confidence and skill.
